Some feelings after reading Me and You

Lorenzo and Olivia were both people who can not blend in with the crowd. They had some kind of different personalities with other people. I felt pitiful for them because I can feel actually they were looking forward to having someone who loved them, who needed them and who cared about them. They felt lonely when they got in trouble because they had nobody.  When they found each other were the person who can trust and love; they finally experienced the feeling of "me and you", but the happy time did not last for a long time.
Lorenzo and Olivia had not met for 10 years, after they spent the last “dinner night” together in cellar and left that morning. Lorenzo still kept the note which Olivia left him until now. Olivia said thank you to Lorenzo on that note, and she hoped to meet him again in the future, but 10 years later, when Lorenzo came to find Olivia, she had already died because of overdose. Her skin was yellow, and she was as skinny as she was in the cellar with Lorenzo, but she looked peaceful and beautiful.
Actually, I was really shocked when I knew this was the ending of the book. I did not expect Olivia will die at all. I just imagined that Lorenzo would meet a really healthy, beautiful and sexy Olivia who has blonde long hairs, attractive grey eyes and graceful purple dress, and they would hug each other, cry and have a long talk. Their conversation will never end because they want to tell each other all the things happened in this 10 years; they missed each other a lot. However, all of the imagination became to foam when I read Olivia died. I was sad because I did not understand why Olivia did not keep her promise which was she would not take drugs any more. She deserves a better life. To tell the truth, I do not like this ending at all. Why people always die in some kind of books? It is not realistic at all! Will the life really become that terrible which characters could only use die to solve their problems? I have read too many this kind of endings, and I was tired of it. I’m going to rewrite the ending:
Lorenzo was sitting at the corner of the coffee shop, and he had just ordered a cup of latte. He took out the note which Olivia left for him ten years before and used his hand to unfold it carefully. The paper was yellow and wrinkled, and the words on it were fuzzy and can not be read any more.
“Sir, here’s your latte, you bastard” A really bright sound interrupted Lorenzo. Lorenzo raised his head up surprisingly, and a mature woman in a graceful purple dress ran into his eyes. She hold a white delicate cup with golden decorate in front of her wide breasts. It was hard to recognize, although her beautiful grey eyes let Lorenzo know who she was. She put the latte on the table, set down next to Lorenzo and fondled his head gently. Lorenzo smiled with tears in his eyes……
      “Good to see you again.”
Here is the ending which I expected to see. From Lorenzo’s story, I learned that we need to spend more time with the person who we care about; do not wait to love them until they already left. Lorenzo lost his grandma and his sister. Even though maybe he can not do anything to stop it, at least he can show his love to them when it was not too late. I think he should stay in touch with Olivia during this ten years, and maybe he could give her a hand when she was in trouble and needed his help like she was standing outside the cellar ten years before; maybe she will not die because she knew that Lorenzo loved her and cared about her all the time. Besides, life is not that terrible, we should not do those stupid things to ourselves, and we should always remember that there will be somebody who does care about us, and we need to keep working to have a happy life to make them proud of us.

1.18 500 words blog(chap5~6)

Lorenzo still hid in the cellar during Chap5~6. And then his half sister Olivia came to the cellar which Lorenzo did not expect at all. She came to the cellar to find her box of her staff. Accidently, she found Lorenzo; then she knew the secret of Lorenzo which was he did not go to the ski week but hid in the cellar for several days.
At night she had no place to go, so she came back to the cellar. At first, Lorenzo did not allow her to come in to cellar to spend the night with him because he did not want Olivia to mess everything up, and he did not want others to disturb him. “You’ll mess everything up. There isn’t any room. It’s dangerous. I’m here undercover.”
Moreover, he did not know much about Olivia, and he even had bias about her. He just knew Olivia from his parents’ mouths. She was Lorenzo’s father and his divorced wife’s daughter. She pretended that she was a photographer, and she failed high-school exams. She even ran away from home couple times. Every time Lorenzo’s father came to see her, he must come back with a bad mood.
“My father didn’t speak easily about his daughter. Every now and then he would go and visit her and he always came back in a bad mood. From what I could understand Olivia was crazy.”
Besides, Lorenzo saw Olivia’s letter “Diary of a Hatred” that made Lorenzo very unhappy because he thought his father was very polite and nice; he thought Olivia did not know everything and she should not say bad words to father.
“I read it three times. I hadn’t realized that Olivia hated Dad so much. I knew they didn’t get on, but he was her father, after all. I mean, give him a break! If you didn’t know Dad you might think he wasn’t that nice. He looked like one of those men who takes himself too seriously, as though they carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. But if you met him at the beach in summer or on the ski slope he would be very polite and nice. Anyway, Olivia was the one who had decided not to see him any more. She was the nasty one who had ganged up on his best to rebuild their relationship.”
He finally let her in because if he did not let her in, she would yell and wake everyone up to tell them that Lorenzo was hiding in the cellar. “She moved towards the middle of the garden and in a fairly loud voice said, ‘Listen up, everyone! Can you hear me? A boy is hiding in the cellar. It’s Lorenzo Cuni, who’s pretending to be away on ski week… Hello…” Lorenzo did not want his mother to be woken up so as those neighbors; he did not want to be embarrassed, so he went to open the door for Olivia.

Why he started to feel sorry for Olivia and wanted to help her?
As the content mentions that she was very beautiful before. She had curly blonde hair, black and grey eyes, and some freckles on her face. She was tall and had big, wide breasts. Now she is now as beautiful as before. She lost a lot of weight; her square cheekbones stuck out; her long blonde hair had been cut short. She looks very stretched and tired. Every man must have compassion for womanhood. I felt like Lorenzo wanted to take care of Olivia. Besides, she was really sick. “She looked liked she’d been chewed up and spat out by a monster who had found her too bitter to eat.” It might make Lorenzo sympathy for her. “I crept towards her and put my ear up against her face. She was breathing. I took the stub out of her mouth and then I got a blank at and put it over her.”
The most important reason is that Olivia helped Lorenzo solve his biggest problem which was making a fake phone call with his mother to let his mother talk with” Alessia’s mother” and making her believe Lorenzo was on ski week. She did a perfect job. Lorenzo was very happy because of that.

4. Why did Lorenzo remain this "car accident" when he was in the basement? Why is this event important?

5. Why did Lorenzo hate this song? ( He did not hate the song at first.)

Fact questions:

story

Once upon a time, I went back to my home town during the Christmas break. After a 21-hour-trip, tired obviously showed up on my face. I fell asleep in my parents’ picking up car and got up early on my cozy bed next morning. To tell the truth, my home is the best and warmest place for me, and my old friends and relatives are the dearest people. I switched on my phone to see who I can hangout with to kill time of my boring holiday.
“ How are you? Long time no see. I’m back! Do you mind to have a drink with me this afternoon?” I sent a message to my friends and looked forward to their reply. “ Wow, I can not believe that you are back. I miss you so much, but I’m sorry I have full schedule these days. Have fun!” Actually, I was so disappointed, but I understood them. After all they did not have Christmas break, and their final test is coming soon. I lied on my bed, listening to music. I saw time flying in front of me, and I wasted them without enjoying myself. One day, my phone rang excitedly like the singing bird. To my surprise, it was a call from my old primary classmate, and he invited me to hangout with him. We did not see each other for about five years, and I misses him very much. He went back from England during the Christmas break, and he had bunch of time to stay with me. When I put off the phone, I got on my coat quickly and rushed out of the door happily.
At the corner of the busy shopping mall, I saw him. He was tall and handsome. Although he changed a lot, I still can dimly see that young boy playing with me under the sun, and I still can remember that unforgettable beautiful time. We went into the crowd.
